The Old Way of Home Design:
Typically you can expect to pay between 10%-16% of the total construction costs for design. This design fee can be explained in one of three ways.
- Many architecture firms will calculate their design fee based on your budget. However, they will often overdesign without concern for price.
- Design/Build firms often don’t do their own design; they subcontract the service.
- Finally, many General Contractors will include a design fee and will recruit an inexpensive and often less experienced designer.

Flexible Pricing Options
The majority of our architectural services are provided for a flat fee. Our fees are flexible and based on the needs of your project. We offer hourly rates, flat fees, and prices as a percent of the cost of construction. This means we have no vested interest in driving up the costs of your project and you are able to budget for your investment up-front.
Regardless of the pricing structure you choose, you can expect your design investment to fall somewhere between 6%-9% of the cost of construction. This includes producing full construction drawings, ready for permit submission and including all your selections and specifications in one complete package.
Other Services
We also offer bid solicitation, which involves bidding your design to multiple, reputable contractors we trust and construction management services where we remain your representative until construction is complete. These services require an additional investment of approximately 2%-6% of the cost of construction. Your total investment for both design and construction management services can fall between 8%-15%.
