Traditionally, a homeowner decides they’d like to have their home designed or renovated and quickly find themselves in the midst of a confusing bidding and negotiation process. Not only does it take considerable time to meet with so many contractors, but the designs and bids vary greatly.
Homeowners are left wondering if they are comparing apples-to-apples, questioning if the lowest priced contractor has the same level of finish as the more expensive one. Also, if every contractor is selling their own services, who is really looking out for them?
We often heard complaints from homeowners that their contractor or architect hadn’t done a very thorough job with design and wished they’d had an expert to help them with efficient space planning and material selections. Often after months of construction, endless change orders, and an over-extended construction timeline, the project would be completed with both the homeowner and contractor wondering what went wrong.
We Listened and Learned

- A need for more field experience and additional detail in construction drawings.
- Not having an understanding of construction costs and ability to design to budget.
- Lack of ownership of the selection process during design. Placing numerous “allowances” for materials before construction often causes cost overruns and construction delays.

If you prefer comparative bids, we can provide your plans to several reputable and reliable general contractors on your behalf. Once the bids come in, we’re your partners in making the best contractor choice for you and your family.
